You have control over your encryption. Chats should be encrypted by you with OMEMO, PGP or OTR in order to be secured from data leaks and authorities.

Our service makes it possible for users to be guaranteed a secured privacy by just processing the most minimal amount of necessary personal data only.
The data is not being used for commercial purposes and thus it's also not being sold to third-parties. The same applies for the website. Additionally, only errors are logged to detect issues with the server configuration.

Maximum security from surveillance and data leaks
In order to keep state apparatuses, petty-criminal cyclops and other troublemakers out of our service, we base ourselves on configuring our server to the best possible security and encrypted connections.
Therefore, our server can only be reached by clients and federated servers over a secured TLS connection and we also only adhere to federate with servers which have equally valid and recognized certificates. In particular, we regularly pay attention on keeping the softwares used for our project up-to-date. Keeping our server secure from intruders is also important to us.
